Splash In & Dash Out Aquathon

Australia Day Aquathon is on Tuesday January 26, 2016 and there is an event to suit all ages and abilities. Such an amazing event and experience so why not try your first aqauthon or challenge last years results. Its Australia’s favourite swim, run and community walk. Aquathon is a swim and a run – solo or in a team.

Events & Distances 

The swim is in safe enclosed waters of Wollongong Boat Harbour, and you only go 50m from shore with lots of lifesavers and parents can help and swim with kids too. With a 140m swim for U10’s and 200m for 10-12’s, than the run is a terrific cycle way coastal 1km out and back for 2km in total..EASY!!
Kids can do it on their own or Relay Tag Team with a Friend, with your Parent/Guardian by your side
6-9yrs – 140m swim + 2km run
10-12yrs – 200m swim+ 2km run

The perfect entry level event to try your first “splash IN, dash OUT” – safe, fun, male and female 13 years+
There are no ‘official’ timing, you can wear flippers, but do ask you can competently swim 200m.
An achievable 200m ‘splash’ swim, that takes you only a little off shore in enclosed waters and 1km out (2km total) and back run along the waters side ‘Bluemile’


Offers a safe and rewarding swim & run experience.
It’s super safe and ideal for all ages 12+.
You can do it solo or in a tag team (one swimmer, one runner)
400m Swim – One lap of the sheltered & picturesque Wollongong Harbour.
3k run.

This is a great test of fitness but a friendly ‘challenge’ distance
Whilst the distance steps up a gear, with some preparation it is very achievable, safe and fun for all ages.

Participate as an individual or buddy up and ‘Relay Tag team’ (swimmer + runner) and join in

900m SWIM: Two laps 450m each from shoreline start, around the harbour, exit and take breathier on sand, than in for lap two.
Change Area: straight up from water, on footpath where you have placed your running attire..swap goggles for joggers and exit..TEAM: you tag in ‘Team Change’ and swap time velcro from swimmer to runner ankle.
7km RUN: The run heads north for a safe, flat coastal run with loads of marshals, cheering crowds and services.

Starting at 10am, the scenic 3.5km the Warrigal Australia Day Walk walk begins at Wollongong Harbour and takes a spectacular path around the lower boat harbour for the first 1km, than along Wollongong’s ‘blue mile’ to North Wollongong Surf Club car park and returns to finish at Wollongong Harbour.
The community walk is open for everyone, offering families, and those of all ages the perfect Australia Day experience.
