I’ve Lost 25 Kilos!

I really needed to get fit and healthy before I was 40. This was the start of a new life. I’ve always been fat and have never been happy with myself from holding everything in and food, for me, was a feel good source. I was never interested in sport in my social life or at school and avoided photos at all costs!

Since starting with Kieran as my Personal Trainer my whole body has changed that people are noticing ME for once and for all the right reasons!

I have lost 25 kilos. I feel lighter, have 100% more energy, more positive and comfortable with myself and feel I have achieved something positive in my life. I love being able to buy clothes without even trying them on. I’m happy to be in photos and I’m even comfortable with taking of my shirt at the beach or pool which I would never have done before Personal Training.

Once you get over that first hurdle you get a boost in confidence and everything will become easier. Just do it, you will never look back!

Constantly travelling and moving around for work and uni, I began to think it was impossible to maintain a healthy diet and get in any exercise. Travelling to and from Sydney daily led me to use the excuse of being to tired to go for a run or go to the gym which led to gaining weight and becoming quite unfit. I tried different kinds of diets but always lost the motivation to keep going and never got the results I was hoping for.

 

find the motivationJoining Beachside in June led to a significant change; I was finally was able to find the motivation I needed to reach my goals. Unlike any previous gym memberships, I had Kieran to push me at training even when I told myself I couldn’t. Not to mention the early morning reminders to get to class. Participating in the 8 Week Challenge was perfect to help me set goals and teach me how to achieve them as well as how to prepare and enjoy delicious, healthy food whilst still being able to shred the kilos. I am now able to understand how to maintain a healthy diet and adapt it into my hectic schedule. The morning and afternoon classes made it easy to get my workouts in and almost impossible to skip a class.. No more ‘too tired’ excuses for me.

 

In less than 3 months with Beachside, so far I have lost over 10kgs, significantly decreased my body age and seen a drastic improvement in my fitness levels. My biggest surprise has been in my new found love for my old enemy- running! Something I thought that would never happen! I can’t thank Kieran and the Beachside team enough for their support, I know that with Beachside I will be able to continue and achieve even more fitness and body goals in no time.

I Never Really Saw Myself As Unhealthy or Unfit As I Was Still Active

After having the children I found I was pretty good at hiding behind the camera.

I have been a yoyo exercise/diet person most of my life, I would exercise hard for periods, lose weight, then lose interest and gradually gain weight.  My reward for exercising hard during those periods was partying hard.  One year out from my 40th birthday, I made a pact with my friends that I would be fit for 40.  This would require a change of lifestyle.

That picture is me… yes, it is me. I never really saw myself as unhealthy or unfit as I was still active. Now I know there’s a whole other level of fit and this time, the new fit B is here to stay.

I am so excited to finally discover there is an athlete within me. Deciding to strive for awesome, instead of average, and face my fears has given me such freedom and confidence that I have not felt before. This year I ran my first 42km marathon at the age of 42.

What has made the difference this time is setting specific goals and an awesome Personal Trainer, who started a 7am Bootcamp on Saturday morning at Raby Bay, which grew into a wonderful group of people. Sometimes a little bit of a social gathering, but a great workout that we were pushed to complete. Fun Runs became a popular goal, so what do you do, get up earlier at 6am and walk, jog or run with Kieran right beside you encouraging as always.  But wait, there’s more, someone wanted to do a triathlon (I think it was Kieran), so you get up a little bit earlier at 5.30am and get on your bike to test out the course from Raby Bay to Ormiston and back, and he even made us swim in that water at Raby Bay.  He’s leaving us Queenslanders now, but his legacy will be the Triathletes he has created and the lifetime friendships he has formed.  He will be very missed.

Having My Personal Trainer There Took All The Confusion Out

I had become quite lazy, overweight, unmotivated and got puffed with little exertion. I realised that if I didn’t want to follow the path of my parents, both being overweight, Dad now deceased and Mum with chronic depression, and if I wanted to keep up with my 4 kids, I had to do something about it. Being an emotional eater and the one everyone in the family turns to for help with a drama drains me and I found my weight creeping up to 77 kilos.

In the beginning it was the unknown that was daunting but through Personal Training and Outdoor Group Training, I refocused on my exercise and nutrition, and realising that I can fall off the wagon, I just need to get back on to be successful. Having my Personal Trainer (Kieran) there to guide me in the right direction, keep me motivated and tell me what I should be eating took all the confusion out and got me to my goals easier.

Now I am 60 kilos (something I haven’t been since before having my 4 kids), I feel fantastic, I have toned up and I am fitter than ever. I’m 43 years old and can’t ever remember being this fit! I am more organised in my day, handle stress better and have even been running events like the city2surf and Bridge to Brisbane JUST FOR FUN!

It Helped Me Lose Weight Before My Wedding

I hadn’t done any exercise for a while and was feeling sluggish, fat and really just yuk! I was also unfit compared to when I was younger. I was pretty disgusted in myself for being like that and actually didn’t realise how bad I had gotten. Some people at work started Private Group Training so I felt comfortable starting with people I knew. I also knew there would be people there better than me but didn’t let that stop me.

My body shape has changed a lot and I have become stronger and fitter since starting and it helped lose weight before my wedding. Before training I had a great deal of back and neck pain because of a car accident. I never have this pain now due to my increased core strength. I have a lot more energy, eat the right foods and training has helped to lose the weight I wanted gone before my wedding. I am proud of what I have achieved and am starting to realise what other people are telling me now. I will not be going back!

Looking back at photos I can tell when I started traing with you becasue that is when all the changes happened. Not just fitness and body shape but my whole attitude to life. I actually wonder where I might have ended up if If I hadn’t started training with you. Thank you for everything!
