After a break up, lack of exercise and a lack of love for myself made me feel overweight and unmotivated, which triggered the downward spiral of; less motivation equals less exercise that leads to less motivation and it goes on.

After much hesitation I called Kieran, who was very understanding about where I needed to go and the direction to guide me physically, mentally and emotionally. Kieran is firm but fair and, I never thought I’d say this, but exercise and personal training with Kieran brightened my day!

As I saw my body changing I gained a new confidence that I absolutely love and makes me feel sexy again!

I Felt I Was Getting Fat, Squishy and Very Lethargic

Through having a very sedentary job and not doing enough exercise, I felt I was getting fat, squishy and very lethargic. I started Personal Training with Kieran to get fit, be as lean and strong as I can and I wanted to learn to box.

Personal Training is fun and it works, what I do with Kieran wouldn’t do on my own. Now I’ve moved to Upper Mount Gravatt I still travel down to train with Kieran and I am constantly improving my body and my boxing! And when I train through the week I always have something to aim for.

Now I am stronger, fitter, more confident and best of all my clothes fit me better. I used to wake up feeling crap, now I can start my day feeling so much more vibrant improve my work load and I still have energy when I get home.

My Fitness Has Improved Out of Sight!

After spending most of the previous year getting fit and healthy for my wedding, I wanted to continue feeling good about myself but wanted to try something that I had never done before… bootcamp! I started training with Kieran in April of 2010 when I began coming to Saturday morning bootcamps. I decided to give bootcamp sessions a go with Kieran because I had friends that had already been going to these sessions and had said how great they are.

Training with Kieran has been a great experience for me because I myself am studying to be a personal trainer (and I’m almost there!) and Kieran has not only taught me a lot about setting and achieving my own health and fitness goals, but how to be a fun and relatable PT who runs enjoyable and worthwhile fitness sessions.

Saturday morning bootcamps were the start for me, then I decided to give Monday and Wednesday morning boocamps a go, as well as join the Saturday morning run group. Joining the run group was an especially momentous occasion for me because I was always one of those people who thought they couldn’t run!! Now I am able to run 10km and am motivated to improve on this! I enjoy the sessions, especially because they are outdoors and by the water, and my fitness has improved out of sight! I definitely feel stronger and have more energy every day.

I would encourage anyone of any age or ability to train with Kieran because he is a fantastic trainer who understands you and will cater for your needs.

It’s More Than A Weight Loss Journey

It’s More Than A Weight Loss Journey

It has taken me days to sift through pictures of last year to even find a photo of myself or where I wasn’t hiding behind the kids in a picture. When I look back at some pictures I feel really sad and emotional. What I have just painfully realized is that it wasn’t the kids that made the past 5 years tough, it was me, my negative attitude about myself and my negative attitude to everything in life.

I honestly can’t put into words how grateful I am that I got to do this with you and this amazing lot of people over the past few months. My entire mindset has changed from a “I am worth nothing and can’t achieve anything” to an “I can do anything attitude” and have a much more positive way of looking at everything in my life (not just exercise). It’s been so much more than a weight loss journey for me. I have learnt how to overcome obstacles and move on and make the next day a brand new day with a positive outlook!

So, as hard as it has been to dig out this rare picture, It has made me realize how far I have come and how much I have changed in so many ways. I don’t think that I would have realized this without you.

It Has Helped Improve My Self Esteem

Before I started with Kieran, I was training irregularly and without goals. Kieran is a really positive bloke, and pushes me on without being demeaning like a drill sergeant. I have never felt embarrassed or self conscious around him.  Kieran also puts a lot of thought into the variety of training – we rarely do the same thing twice, which I think helps to stop boredom with training so sometimes it doesn’t even seem like training.

Over the past ten years, I started to notice that my weight was stealthily creeping up due to inactivity and poor food choices.  As well as physical training, Kieran puts a lot of focus on nutrition and what foods you should be eating.

Now I’m much leaner and stronger – I can do men’s pushups and planks now! My old clothes fit me again, which is a great feeling, and the ones that don’t are too big!  My fitness has improved heaps, I can run now without the agony of tired legs and no breath left.

I actually think of myself as a fit person now and I don’t feel fat. Fitness has helped improve my self esteem and people comment about my weight loss, which is really nice! Be persistent, It’s your health and lifestyle, only you can change it, and it’s not impossible.

To date, I’ve lost 12kg at my own pace without the starvation and slave driving like the Biggest Loser. The ongoing improvements to my health and body are all I need to carry me on – I’m never going back this time!
