Good Nutrition Is Critical For Healthy Living
I’ve always been sporty so there has never been a moment when I realised I had to get active and even though training has always been in my blood, my body shape and fitness level has gone up and down over the years. I’m 152cm tall and was at my heaviest when I was 18 being slightly overweight.
I am at a good body weight now, at 32, weighting 51kg. I have learnt at a lot about training, different training intensities and the effect the intensity can have your body. In recent years I have learnt about how good nutrition is critical for healthy living.

Less About the Kilos and More About the Fitness
Before starting Private Group Training with friends, I had considered myself a pretty healthy and fit person. I ate healthy food most of the time and I exercised regularly. I just wanted to loose just a few kilos that had stuck around after having the kids.
I was taught me a whole new way to exercise. I had become compliant with my regular exercise routines and Kieran taught me how to push myself to the next limit, and have fun while doing it. It highlighted the areas in my life that were my undoing. It didnt so much become about the kilos anymore and more about the fitness, how I could improve on what I did last time and what exercise was I going to do this week.
I have two young kids and would find it difficult to find time to exercise. Kieran’s workouts were easy to adapt at home in the backyard. They were quick, yet very effective. There never became an excuse anymore not to exercise. I have now enrolled in a triathlon which I would have never thought myself capable of. But I am now in the right mindset about exercise and what I can achieve. I am excited about the challenge ahead, and have made changes in my life around food and exercise that are now a part of my every day life.
Thanks Kieran, I really enjoyed the way you taught and encouraged us. You were never intimidating or overbearing but always gave a gentle nudge to get us through. Thanks for everything you have done. Much appreciated.

My Sessions Are Always Fun
Before beginning Kieran’s Personal Training sessions, I was always feeling tired and overweight so Kieran helped me figure out I needed to increase my fitness and decrease my body fat percentage.
My sessions are always fun and interesting and I’m never doing the same thing for too long. Kieran always kept me entertained and wanting to come back. I am always pushed hard and now know it is definitely for the best.
I used to get puffed and easily and couldn’t run for more than five minutes. Now I can run for at least half an hour at a time! I am more energetic than ever and am finally happy with my body weight. I even passed all the Police fitness tests and am on the force!
Training doesn’t have to be boring and results can be achieved.

I Am Even Training For A Triathlon
About 5 years ago, I was competing in pool and ocean swimming competitions. I trained hard and, as a result, I was fit, strong and felt energised. I then started fulltime work in the city and my training soon fell by the wayside. I occasionally went for a swim in the local pool but it certainly wasn’t enough to maintain my level of fitness or keep the toned body I had acquired from swimming.
Although I was never largely overweight, the kilos that crept on were enough to make me feel disgruntled with myself. I felt sluggish and clothes didn’t fit like they were supposed to. Worst of all my self confidence was slowly fading. I changed jobs and decided it was time to do something about my body too. A friend recommended Kieran Sernig so I took the plunge and signed up for 10 weeks of personal training with Kieran.
As a person with a physical disability, I was unsure of whether I would get much benefit from personal training but Kieran assured me that he could tailor exercises to suit me. Kieran developed interesting and very challenging exercises. I soon began to feel the “exercise-high” that I used to get from swimming training and it felt good. Energy levels increased and the results were evident – clothes that I hadn’t worn in over a year found a place in my wardrobe. More importantly, I was confident about my body again. Plus, I had learnt basic self defence techniques (thanks to kick boxing) and could do 100 sit ups!!
At the end of my 10 weeks of personal training, Kieran encouraged me to join his Bootcamp. I was hesitant at first – I have always been self-conscious about the way I look because of my disability so group exercise was not high on my list of favourite activities. Kieran told me to come for one session and if I didn’t like it, I didn’t have to go back. I had an awesome time and felt very much at ease with the group.
I now go to Bootcamp every week and have gotten back into swimming too. I walk in preference to catching public transport around the city and love that I have my energy back. I am even training for a triathlon. With Kieran’s advice, I have changed my eating habits and know that I am more healthy!
My advice for anybody that feels dissatisfied with how they feel and look is get up, get moving and you will get healthy! The hard work really does pay off.

I Can Do Things I Never Thought I Could
I got bored with gyms and classes and couldn’t keep myself motivated, but if I didn’t exercise I felt lethargic and, at times, very low. It got to the point where I had trouble getting up in the morning.
When I left Kieran a message he returned it a.s.a.p. and was genuinely interested in what I wanted from my training. He changes the intensity and activities to suit my ability, development and even the type of weather to make sure I get the most benefits and enjoyment out of my sessions.
Kieran is very dependable and consistent in his approach and is always there with his fun, goal orientated and always varying sessions, rain, hail, or shine. You don’t even have to think – he does all that for you!
Now I can do so many things I never thought I could before- jog, run, skip, do crazy push-ups and even get up regularly at 5:30 in the morning to exercise and look forward to it!
Kieran is a committed, professional Personal Trainer. He has a genuine interest in getting clients to achieve their fitness goals. He is not judgemental in any way and I always feel comfortable training with him one-one-one. I can do thngs I never thought I could and he has pushed me to achieve things I never thought possible after having two children.
Best of all I have achieved my number one goal of making exercise part of my everyday lifestyle.
